Jay David Bolter holds a Ph.D. in Classics from the University of North Carolina and is currently the Wesley Chair of New Media at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is the author of Turing's Man: Western Culture in the Computer Age (1984); Writing Space: The Computer, Hypertext, and the History of Writing, (1991; second edition 2001); Remediation (1999), with Richard Grusin; and Windows and Mirrors (2003), with Diane Gromala. In addition to writing about new media, Bolter collaborates in the construction of new digital media forms. With Michael Joyce, he created Storyspace, a hypertext authoring system. With Blair MacIntyre and collaborators in the Augmented Environments Lab at Georgia Tech, he is exploring use of the Argon browser to dramatic experiences for games, art, entertainment and informal education. His collaborations in AR experience design extend to Sweden, where he is working with Maria Engberg, Susan Kozel, and other researchers and designers at Malmö University and the Blekinge Institute of Technology.

StartupChicks is a networking and educational organization for women entrepreneurs focused on Media, Tech, Bio Tech, and Green Startups. Jennifer founded StartupChicks in 2009 to connect with existing women entrepreneurs and grow/inspire future generations of women to become entrepreneurs. StartupChicks has grown to over 1000 members.

Prior to these roles, Jennifer was CEO of Nexpense, a mobile expense management solution acquired by TRX in June of 2012, VP of Technology for Seacoast Synergy, a technology business incubator and co-founder / Chief Technology Officer of eTour.com.

eTour.com was an internet advertising engine similar in nature to a search engine. As the sole technology-oriented founder, she designed, developed, and launched the initial version of eTour.com in the spring of 1998. She eventually grew the technology staff to 60 employees, as the company grew to 180 employees. In 1999, eTour.com was labeled the “Most Addictive” site on the web by Industry Standard; the “coolest tool site” of the year by http://www.coolsiteoftheday.com ; and was ranked number 1 in average days visited by MediaMetrix (a.k.a. the “stickiest” site on the web). By April of 2001, eTour had grown to 5 million subscribers and was ranked number 71 in total traffic for the world wide web by MediaMetrix. eTour was venture backed. eTour.com was acquired by Ask Jeeves (now ASK.com) in May of 2001.

In 1996, Marc was a co-founder and an original board member of Pretty Good Privacy ("PGP"), a company formed to commercialize one of the most prevalent security standards used on the Internet, and recently popularized in the book The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Marc assisted with the initial formation of PGP and oversaw the financing, growth and eventual sale of the company (to Network Associates (Nasdaq: INTC), a public company worth over $1 billion) in December of 1997. After PGP, Marc co-founded VerticalOne Corporation, a content personalization service that was sold to S1 Corporation (Nasdaq: ACIW) for $166 million. Marc was Executive Vice President of VerticalOne and worked in multiple areas of the company including financing, business development, sales, M&A and security issues. Marc also co-founded Lanta Technology Group, an Atlanta-based company that specialized in the executive staffing. Marc is an active speaker on raising venture funding and has spoken at the Technology Association of Georgia, Internet Summit, Southeastern Venture Conference, and Finovate among other conferences. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Henry W. Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia and remains an avid bulldog fan.

After being featured on ABC's "American Inventor" in 2007, David co-founded a company and licensed technology to Whirlpool. He then grew a startup SAT/ACT test preparation business, Ivy Insiders, to several hundred employees and over $2M in annual revenues before leading it to an acquisition.

He was formally trained on General Electric's Technical Sales Leadership Program, where he finished first in his program, and held operations and sourcing positions with GE in the U.S. and China before beginning his entrepreneurial career.

David has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, highest honors, from Georgia Tech, and an M.B.A from Harvard Business School. He holds five patents, was selected by the Georgia Tech Alumni Association as a Top 30 under 30 (2008), was a TAG Spirit of Endeavor - Outstanding Leadership Finalist (2011), and received the TiECON Southeast: Top Up-and-Coming Entrepreneur Award (2012).

While living in Boston, he volunteered with the HBS Boston Association's Community Action Partners, assisting non-profit entities with strategic initiatives.
